Don't disown your Jewish Heritage Banner

On the Sabbath of August 4 in the year 1263, the Synagogue of Barcelona was host to a royal guest. James the first, king of Aragon, had come to talk to his Jewish subjects.

The king attempted to persuade the congregants that they ought to convert to Christianity.

When the king finished his speech, Rabbi Moshe ben Nachman (RaMBaN, Nachmanides) stepped forward to give expression to the feelings of his brothers. After a preliminary demonstration of respect for the crown, the Rabbi addressed the king with these words.

I am amazed. The words said in our presence to convince us that the Nazarene is the Messiah, were said by the Nazarene himself when he brought this same message to our ancestors and tried to persuade them. They refuted him to his face with a perfect and strong rejection despite the fact that it was he who spoke, who knew and could argue his claim that he is divine, in accordance to your opinion, better than you can today.

Now, if our ancestors who saw him and knew him did not heed him, how then can we believe and heed the voice of the king, whose only knowledge of the matter stems merely from the hearsay of distant reporters who heard it from people who neither knew him nor were his countrymen as our ancestors knew him and witnessed his life."

The simple words of Nachmanides reflect the clarity of vision, the calmness of spirit, and the solid conviction of the Jew's rejection of Christianity.

Throughout the ages the Jew faced hardship, and persecution and sometimes even death as a result of this rejection. But the Jew was not moved. The Jew went about doing whatever he had to do, patiently negotiating the various obstacles the hostile Christian world threw into his path. But it never occurred to him to join that world. Being a Jew was as essential as life itself, and even more than that.

When being a Jew meant death, the Jew went to die accompanied by his wife, his little children, and a simple love for his G_d.

But Christianity? Never.

It happened however, that in certain phases of Jewish history, many Jews seem to have lost this resistance to Christianity. We live in one of those periods today.

Hundreds if not thousands of Jews have joined the Messianic, and Hebrew Christian congregations. This wave of apostasy, as did those which preceded it, comes on the heels of another wave.

A Jewish conversion to Christianity, whether it takes place on the individual level or on the communal level, follows a breakdown of the Jewish educational system. Most converts to Christianity had little connection to their heritage before they converted. A Jew who is truly connected to a living Judaism would sooner die than be a Christian.

Why? What is it that the Jew knows about Christianity that inspires him to reject it? How can the Jew be so confident that it is better to be dead than to be a Christian?

The traditional Jew knows very little about Christianity. But the little that he knows is far more than enough.

The Jew knows that Christianity rejects the fundamental beliefs of Judaism. The Jew knows that Christianity calls a man, G_d.

All the philosophical explanations offered to justify Christian theology are wasted on the Jew. These simple facts cannot change.

The Law of Moses is not Christianity, and the G_d of Abraham is not a trinity.

His faith in the G_d of Abraham and Moses, inspired the Jew with the confidence to reject Christianity.

A Jew who lives as his ancestors did before him, experiences the Law of Moses in his daily life.

Love and awareness of the G_d of Abraham, fills the Jew's heart and soul. Perhaps he cannot articulate how it is that he knows the Law of Moses to be immutable, but he knows it nevertheless.
All of the above, was taken from the Introduction of: Yisroel C. Blumenthal's Book YOU ARE MY WITNESSES THE TRADITIONAL JEWISH RESPONSE TO CHRISTIAN MISSIONARIES.

Now, let me tell you that I am not a Jew, but I'm preparing myself for conversion to Judaism, you probably think I am out of my mind.

Also for your information my dear friend, I studied for two years at a Christian Bible School.

Why do I want to convert to Judaism, well one day when waiting in the car for my kid to buy bread I saw a man sitting in front of his house, which supposedly was an Orphanage, and there where all these signs with Hebrew character's and I asked him the meaning of all those signs and he told me that he was a Messianic Christian and started explaining his believes and how they observed the 5 Books of Moses, meaning the Torah.

So that evening I started surfing the Internet searching for different Jewish Web Sites and started reading and I subscribed to several lists and started to see a whole new reality and what's more important, it left all of what I had been thought without a substantial standing.

I also downloaded Pastor Rawson's Latest Book "Embrace Your Jewish Heritage", well I must say that I was surprised and at the same time happy, I don't know, but I was happy.

One night when I was praying I realized that in order that my prayers reach G_d I had to go through the Nazarene, and I said to myself if G_d is my Father and Creator, why should I have to do my requests through somebody else; when I was a kid and needed something from my father, I would simply approach him and asked for what I needed at that moment, I never ever went next door to our neighbour and requested him to convey my needs to my father, by the same token the same should apply with our relation with our Heavenly Father.

So I said to myself, I will pray directly to Hashem and ask Him regarding this doubt I had; my prayer was answered that same night.

After finishing my night prayers, I went inside and started reading Rabbi Aryeh Kaplan's Book THE REAL MESSIAH? A Jewish Response to Missionaries: that did it, I went and recited the Shema Yisrael, and since that day, my life changed completely.

Now I study Torah, try to the best of my abilities fulfill the mitzvots (The one's which I'm allowed as I'm not a Jew yet and have not been circumcised),pray, read Tehillim, The Shulchon Aruch and other Jewish Books.

If today you or anybody else comes and asks me what do I believe in, my answer is quite simple "in Hashem, the King of the Universe" the One and Only G_d, He was, is and will be, there isn't anything or anyone else, Hashem is the only true G_d.

If today due to circumstances beyond our control, G_d forbid and if I would be forced to deny Hashem in order to save my life, I would simply give up my life willingly in order to honor Hashem and not desecrate His Holy Name.

I want to stress the fact that whatever these missionaries or anybody else offer or tell you, it's just misleading, deceitful and false; the Messiah has not yet come and the one they preach, well, put in simple words, he is not the Messiah.

I beg you to please reconsider your decision, and simply if you don't believe what I'm telling you, please, I beg you please look for an Orthodox Rabbi and speak with him and I can assure you that all your doubts and tremors will be answered and you will have saved your soul from eternal condemnation.

Regarding myself, I'm reading and studying, trying to the best of my abilities to be a Chassid.

Why? because:

Chassidism leads a person to two simple goals:

First, to understand that G_d is all and all is G_d. He is everywhere in every facet of our lives. Our goal is to discover G_d and to connect to Him in all that we do.

The second, my goal is to take what I have learned and to spread it, teach it and awaken others, to a Gentile that he accept that there is only one G_d, Hashem and live according to the 7 Laws of Noach and to the Jews who are being tempted by all of these Missionaries and Evangelical movements not to be enticed and end up being assimilated and make your life miserable.

Every one of us has a G_d given mission to spread G_d's good light to even the darkest corners of the world. No matter what one's age, gender or background, every person was brought into this world so that he, in his own unique way, will change the world for the better. Every individual's goal should be to do his part to turn this world into a dwelling place for G_d a world full of loving-kindness, health, happiness and true peace.

Unity and Moshiach

Only once there is complete unity among the Jewish people and only then will it be possible for Moshiach ben David to be revealed, since his arrival is totally contingent on the unity, peace, love and fellowship amongst Jews.

Torah teachings are dedicated to the goal of bringing peace, unity, love and fellowship to the Jewish people, and to the entire world.

As soon as the Jewish people become one, at that time there will be the awesome revelation of Moshiach ben David.

Let's all return in Tshuva to Hashem, Torah and Mitzvots; may Moshiach be revealed speedily and in our days, Amen.

Maimonides-The Rambam
Rambam-Maimonides
Rabbi Moses ben Maimon

The Rambam's 13 Principles of Jewish Faith

1. I believe with perfect faith that G-d is the Creator and Ruler of all things. He alone has made, does make, and will make all things.

2. I believe with perfect faith that G-d is One. There is no unity that is in any way like His. He alone is our G-d He was, He is, and He will be.

3. I believe with perfect faith that G-d does not have a body. physical concepts do not apply to Him. There is nothing whatsoever that resembles Him at all.

4. I believe with perfect faith that G-d is first and last.

5. I believe with perfect faith that it is only proper to pray to G-d. One may not pray to anyone or anything else.

6. I believe with prefect faith that all the words of the prophets are true.

7. I believe with perfect faith that the prophecy of Moses is absolutely true. He was the chief of all prophets, both before and after Him.

8. I believe with perfect faith that the entire Torah that we now have is that which was given to Moses.

9. I believe with perfect faith that this Torah will not be changed, and that there will never be another given by G-d.

10. I believe with perfect faith that G-d knows all of man's deeds and thoughts. It is thus written (Psalm 33:15), "He has molded every heart together, He understands what each one does."

11. I believe with perfect faith tha G-d rewards those who keep His commandments, and punishes those who transgress Him.

12. I believe with perfect faith in the coming of the Messiah. How long it takes, I will await His coming every day.

13. I believe with perfect faith that the dead will be brought back to life when G-d wills it to happen.

As we go about our ordinary lives, these poor, unfortunate Jews face an uncertain future at the hands of a government and judiciary that is unfavorably disposed towards them.

BROTHERS and SISTERS! HAVE PITY ON THEM! Please pray for them till our Father in Heaven sees fit to have them released.

Despite claims by the Iranian foreign ministry that prisoners would receive a fair trial, we know that their fate is still undecided.

Your every prayer tilts the balance in their favor. Until they are freed they languish in jail, in miserable conditions, their health deteriorating.
PLEASE! Start offering prayers on their behalf NOW! Ask your friends to join us in the effort.
